Walgreens currently has no information on any new products being prepared. Further, there is no information on the product currently being sold by GlaxoSmithKline (asInvitrogen®).
There are still many unanswered questions surrounding the safety and effectiveness of Walgreens' Cialis (20mg) for men, including side effects and interactions with other medications. To address these concerns, the UK National Formulary will be held tomorrow (10 December) at the Walford Medical Centre, with further discussions expected to take place in December.
Update 7 December 2023:GlaxoSmithKline is now confirming that the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has granted final approval to market Cialis (20mg) in the UK.
Cialis is the brand name for the chemical tadalafil, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. ED is a common condition in men, affecting about 1 in 10 men across all age groups. About 70% of men over the age of 40 have ED, with nearly all cases increasing to 70% by age 65 years. ED is treatable with medication, including Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, and by lifestyle interventions, including diet and exercise.
Treatment with tadalafil, whether that medication is prescribed for you or a partner, can be more effective than when using another ED medication. Men who regularly take nitrates (such as isosorbide dinitrate or isosorbide mononitrate, used to treat chest pain) have a significantly lower risk of strokes and heart attacks compared to men who do not take these medications. Tadalafil works in the same way as nitrates and is therefore equally effective.
While all medications have their similarities, tadalafil and sildenafil are two of the most commonly prescribed ED treatments, and men using these treatments have a significantly lower risk of developing these conditions compared to men who do not take these medications.
The MHRA strongly advises men to read the patient information leaflet supplied with their medication to make sure they are using the right amount of medicine for their condition.
